Liverpool announced earlier this year they had signed a new multi-year kit deal with Nike. The club won their High Court battle with New Balance over ending their agreement and now a contract has been agreed with one of the biggest sportswear brands in the world. This design, by Classic Football Shirts, has the traditional Nike template but also has a retro feel to it. The number on the back is a bit of a throwback to the olden days. It is a thick and bold font and features the iconic Nike swoosh at the top.
Liverpool have had many yellow kits in the past but this design is different due to the subtle thin red vertical stripes on the chest and sleeves. Just like the home design, there is a red trim on the sleeves and collar which is a nice touch addition to the overall design. Like the home and away strip, there is white trim on the sleeves and collar which smarten the shirt up.
But the main pattern is the white subtle brush strokes on the shirt which contrasts nicely to the dark green shade. Back in October, one Liverpool fan posted another concept of how the kits could look following the news with a classy red white and gold home strip.
The away creation is a mint green and black combination, while the third is black with red collars and cuffs, and some markings on the shirt too. Liverpool F. If the Blues are to attract star players to Stamford Bridge this summer, they'll be hoping to secure a top four spot to attract the biggest names. Frank Lampard's side are currently three points ahead of Manchester United as they face the final 10 games of the season.
All Football. Joe Ball. But the humour of the play on words was lost on the Stamford Bridge faithful, many of whom are keen to further their chances of finishing in the top four this season.
As an additional concern, many fans are struggling to come to terms with a giant number three being the centrepiece of their club kits until After seeing these mock-ups, some Chelsea fans appear to be warming to the idea of Three replacing Yokohama.
Although, not everyone is convinced - particularly with the notion of the Blues taking to the pitch in a red third kit…. It will be intriguing to see whether Chelsea opt for a similarly minimalist approach in the final design.
